"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

Well dont know how it happened..it takes 3 people to give him a haircut !! I just cry and cry..!

He's dad is going to do it this weekend !

Since his very first hair cut around 1 yrs, he is just the most pitiful thing, it would break your heart!

We try to just do it every 3 mo. or so.

Ive tried the mall , some specialize in kids cuts, have special vices, airplane seats and all.Didnt work.

He has never liked any loud, buzzing sound.

Just little things like when he was a baby, he would hide under the bed, when he was watching the Pink Panther cartoon, cause he was using an electric tooth brush Even when Dad cuts his mustache he runs in panic, cause its like the clippers.

Also every time i vacum i have to put him and some toys on his top bunk...its really sad !

So back to the hair cut.."any ideas?

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

alllll of my litte brothers are scared of hair cuts too.

even when i jsut use scissors. i watched my brother cry and cry for his first hair cut. but after that he was fine.

is he only scared of load nosies? then jsut use scissors.

Do his hair yourself, or have his dad do it. Have a movie playing, give him a lollipop ( of anything else on a stick that he enjoys) and constantly talk to him during the hair cut, ask him questions. keep his mind off the hair cut.

sometimes you just have get through it the first time and then they'll get over it.

good luck, feel better =]

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

dont use trimmers if he's afraid of them

just use scissors and trim his hair

why keep it buzzed anyway

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

Hmm. It sounds like he doesn't like the noise. Put headphones on him! That's what I do when we run the vaccum. Then she doesn't hear the vaccum. It might work with the haircut. But if that dont work, then cut alittle of your hair to show him the Mommi and Daddi do it. Then brib him with a treat.

I hope these work =)

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

My daughter hated getting her hair cut when she was little.I would sit in the chair and let her sit in my lap. That way you can hold her arms.It can be a little messy but it always made her feel more secure.Maybe earplugs for the noise? You could wear them also.My daughter grew out of her fear.Hopefully he will too.Good luck.

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

When I took my 1 1/2 year old son to get his hair cut, we took him to a place called Clippers for Kids. They were excellent there. Try to do away with the clippers. Most clippers do scare children. Have them sit in front of a TV watching their favorite show, have them play a video game. Have him take control of the clippers to show him that they are harmless. Have dad give him his mustache trimmer (if he has one), to show him that it is harmless as well. Once the child gets use to the item and knows its not going to harm him, he should lighten up a little bit and make things much easier for you and the hair dresser! Good luck!!

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

get him a cartoon toothbrush that has batteries and makes noises and vibrates. Let him play with it and let him see it doesnt hurt. Then show him the clippers in a non haircutting situation, just to show him how it doesnt hurt. use it on his arm or somewhere. or take him and one of his buddies together and let the buddy get his hair done first (of course make sure it is someone he truly likes, and someone who isn't afraid of the clippers). Then he will see it is ok. I had a 5 year old boy in my daycare who had a disability and was afraid of loud noises and these are the things I did before I took him for his hair cut.

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

I don't know your Son but, I too hated the 'buzzers' when I was a kid..............AND MY BEST UNCLE WAS 'THE' BARBER!! I was better when he only used the Scissors.

I'd say for now stick to the Scissor cutting only..........Have you ever tried taking him to a Barber where kids go...let him watch them...criers or not.... Let him see it really isn't all that bad!

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

Make A Game Of It ..Get Him A Pair Of Old Clippers A Few old Stuffed Animals Let Him Trim The Stuffed Animals ..See If This Will help..Good Luck..Tell Dad To Try to get Him To Help With Hedge Clippers Etc. Buy Him Some Buzzing Toys

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

I see little kids that have or had cancer, and are bold, and I wonder, are they like that the rest of their lives

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

It grows back, usually a different texture or color for awhile. It will go back to the original hair that they had eventually.

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

HAIR LOST FROM CHEMO OR RADIATION GROWS BACK

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

Cancer patients loose their hair from the chemotherapy. If they stop chemotherapy their hair grows back.

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

Yes, it grows back.

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

Usually children lose their hair because of radiation and/or chemotherapy. It does usaully grow back when this therapy stops.

Check out the web-site below

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

Unless you have had years and years of treatments, your hair typically will grow back. How fast depends on the type of treatments you've had, and for how long. It can take weeks or months. Here's a good link about cancer-related hair loss:

http://www.breastcancer.org/hsn_grows_ba...

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

Yes it does, typically beginning once the chemotherapy treatments are done. I have never known of a case where it DIDN'T grow back.

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

most of the time yes but on occasion no

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

fortunately yes

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

Yes unless there is damage to the hair follicles. It may be a little thinner but eventually it will grow back

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

It grows back within a few weeks or months after chemotherapy stops.

Basically, chemotherapy operates on the idea that cancer cells grow. The only other cell in the human body that grows . . happens to be the hair follicles . . so, chemotherapy stops cells from growing .. it will stop cancer cells and hair cells. That's why people lose their hair.

But, the hair loss is temporary.

Some chemotherapy does not make your hair fall out. Much depends upon the chemotherapy dose, how long the treatment lasts, and each individuals reaction to the chemo.

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

Firstly the word is BALD and yes the hair comes back.

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?

when cancer patients lose their hair because of chemotherapy which has more or less the same effect on normal fast dividing cells and cancer cells ( normal cells will start dividing once again soon when chemo's effect wears away whereas cancer cells once stopped will not recover and destroyed from the system if sensitive to that chemotherapy ) 100 % it is expected to get back to previous hair growth approximately 6 - 8 weks after the last chemo.

also any general illness can affect hair growth like a typhoid infection and similarly the person's cancer status also has an influence on hair loss which is expected to get better with treatment.

when a person with cancer loses hair because of radiotherapy especially a large dose ( usually divided in several doses given once a day for 4 - 6 weeks) then, unfortunately further hair growth is unpredictable ie. may come back as before, may come back but thin and sparse or may not come back at all.

If you can please tell me what cancer it is and what treatment is involved , I will be able to give you a better answer.

Do you find that you push your kids to be independent...?

With my daughter everytime she learned something new, I loved it. It was something less for me to do... I taught her to do things really early.. to put on her shoes and brush her own hair... etc...

With this baby though, I am still pregnant, but I am feeling the opposite, like I want to stretch the baby and toddler years out more....

Did anyone else encourage their firstborn to be independent, especially single mom's?

Do you find that you push your kids to be independent...?

I'm a single dad, and have a good relationship with my (now adult) daughter. Raising her got tough in the teenage years because I was looking to protect her while she was fighting for independance. It gradually eased up as she got older, but I must agree that a child should go to college far enough away that he/she can't come home every weekend. We appreciated each other a lot more after a couple of years, and she was much better equipped to deal with life. When I look at other families and at the one I came from, there does seem to be a signifigant difference with the first one. You're asking about a mother's feelings though, and I can only suggest. Could it be the excitement of the first is how he/she develops, and the reluctance to part with later ones is the realization of how short a time they are your babies?

Do you find that you push your kids to be independent...?

i have encouraged and gently pushed both my girls to be independent, the youngest didn;t need much pushing, shes just like me...my 9 yr old on the other hand would prefer to let us do everything for her.

Do you find that you push your kids to be independent...?

I am not a single mom but I feel like I pushed both of my kids to be idependant.

I have a 13 year old and a 7 yr old. I keep telling the 13 yr old about life and the 7 yr old safty issues. More to both but I wont bore you.

I wanted both of them to stay babies but wanted them to grow up. I cant wait for their weddings but wish they were still able to fit in a highchair.

We can't have both.

Do you find that you push your kids to be independent...?

not a single mom but yes i've done the same thing my daughter 13 and very Independent where as my son who is 11 is not. is it a gender thing or my hang ups? not sure but i do notice a difference.

Do you find that you push your kids to be independent...?

I too am pregnant with #2, and have an independent 3 year old girl.

I don't think I pushed her to be independent, but I didn't exactly hold her back either. She came to me from her bedroom, just the other day in a completely different outfit she had on before. I didn't know she could change her clothes by herself, but she was SOOOO proud of herself, that I praised her immensly %26amp; silently thanked God that it was one less thing I had to do in the mornings.

Games to play with little kids?

i need some more ideas please

:]

thank you

Games to play with little kids?

There are all kinds of games for kids to play:

Go to this website:

http://www.gameskidsplay.net/

It has all kinds of games. They are like playground type games for kids.

Games to play with little kids?

Board games are good and somewhat quiet. (My kids like Trouble and the old favorite Chutes and Ladders.) My kids could play Uno when they were 5 or 6, which is a good family game. We play a game called Sleeping Queens (another card game), that I imagine you could order on the internet.

In the end, though, kids are born to be played with, not to be quiet. If there's fifteen, I can't imagine that there'd ever be a time when at least one isn't causing a ruckus :-)

Games to play with little kids?

you could do drawings or color contests...that is quiet...my kids liked going out and finding a pet rock then coloring it or painting it...you can also do little dixie cups and put a few seeds in it and let them grow a flower or something...

Do you remember the name of a baby doll with curly dark hair and wearing patterned vest purchased ar

I bought a doll like that for my little boy when he was a toddler, which means it was between 1991 and 1994. I think I got it at Toys R Us, it looked like my son, i.e. half caucasion, half African American. The makers did not specify if it was a girl or boy doll, and it easily could have been either because the hair was so curly and the length of it made it hard to tell. The vest (as I remember it) was like an orange kente cloth design. I think it was called My Little Cousin, but nothing shows up when I search with that name. I want to replace the doll so that when he has kids I'll have "his" doll here for them to play with. His actual doll was given away by my mom to some kids in her neighborhood who really hadn't any toys at all, so I don't begrudge her that, I just really want to have the doll again, it was very special to us.

Do you remember the name of a baby doll with curly dark hair and wearing patterned vest purchased around 1992?

Does a School Principal have the right to tell u how to wear your hair style?

Our school principal has gone nuts cause no one likes him and he wants to take it out on us. He recently told several students to get hair cuts because he said they were againist dress code but all the teachers didnt see anything wrong with them. He also picked out the kids with curly hair and made them pull their hair straight to see if it broke any rules. He also picked out a boy with blonde high lights and said that his hair is an abnormal color even though our superintendent prolly dyes his hair brown to cover his gray.( him and this kid haven't got along in 3 years). Now our handbook states that the hair cant be past our eyebrows and these boys all had curly hair that high above the brows and the others comb it to the side . So i just wanted some help cause as a student i plan on bringing this up at the next school board meetin..thanks

Does a School Principal have the right to tell u how to wear your hair style?

He's only in the wrong if he says your hair is too long, but some other guy's hair is even longer, yet the prinipal says that his hair is ok.

If you're school is high achieving, I would tell him to chill.

If you're going to a crappy, low performing school, something needs to be done.

Does a School Principal have the right to tell u how to wear your hair style?

I would have to personally see the handbook and get both sides of the story in order to understand the situation.

If you handbook for example says something along the lines of "student must not style hair or dress in a way that distracts the other students, staff or faculty" then it can be taken broadly.

I would seek people from your school that have experienced the good and bad sides of this administrator and get their input on the situation. Ask your parents, teachers and counselors for help. Bug people at the District office if you have to.
