If I don't get my period in a year, will I not be able to have kids?

I just turned 15 two months ago. I have all the normal signs of puberty "bad moods, pimples, body hair and odor, vaginal discharge", everything except my boobs aren't very big, but thats not what concerns me. Last year around thanksgiving, I got my period for a week. Then I never got it again. Did I do something wrong? And more importantly, do you think I might not be able to have kids when i grow up?

Stop freaking out. the great news is that this is a common thing in young girls. they have their first period and then it disappears for a long time. it comes back eventually and yes you can have kids. you should however tell your parents and your doctor. they will ensure that you are ok as a precaution. this however is a common thing ok.

periods come whether or not you can get pregnant. talk to your doctor or your mom.

talking to your mom is embarassing, yes, but remember she's a female, too. she knows all about this stuff.

It's pretty normal for your period to be irregular at first. If it bothers you, next time you see your doc, tell him/her about it. It has nothing to do with your future fertility.

You are probably just fine. Are you petite? Sometimes small women start later. And it's common to be very irregular when you first start. You should talk to Mom about this. She can have a doctor give you a check up if you are very worried. I am sure you are just fine though.

You can just start your period at 15 and sometimes even a little older especially if you are small and have a slim build. Because you did get your period one time for a week and never got it again, I think it would be wise for you to see a gynecologist who could determine if your hormones are off or if you need some sort of medication. Could be you are perfectly normal and that is just the way your body is working until you start getting it regularly but, to be on the safe side; go and get it checked. You are on the older side of starting your period also. I do not think that this has anything to do with your ability to have children. Make an appointment and the doctor will answer all your questions and he will reassure you about what is going on with your body.

It can take some time, in order for your cycle to become regular.
