Our servant maid has pricked my one year son's inflattable swimming pool using a hair pin. How

While cleaning the house this servant maid used to mutter that my one year son scatter all his toys throughout the house . It is extra work for her. she used to put his inflattable toys some where away from his reach. (just for note this servant maid doesn't have any kids so far) Even I waited for 6 years to hold my precious son. One day I found his oasis inflattable swimming pool down without any air. I found seeing the hole, it was pricked using a hair pin. I also found it near by. How should I handle this issue. I am sure only she has done that as no body came to my house. If I asked her she might stop working for me or If I didn't ask, it may become fatal for other inflattables also. How should I handle this issue. And BTW Is it possible to fix the hole. That is my favourite toy of son.

I am a teensy bit annoyed that you would blame the "help" for a busted toy. If you can afford a servant, you can maaaybey buy your child a new toy. Childrens toys are subject to destrust at time of purchase. Especially inflatable toys. If you did not see her troll up to the toy and stab it with her hairpin (laying near by? Come on, detective, too obvious..) you should let it go. BUY A NEW TOY OR FIRE A CAREGIVER WITH NO REAL REASON.

If you have a servant maid that is that cruel as to punture a child's toy, why would you want her to be working for yo. I am sure you could find some one way better.

Ok.... its kind of wrong to accuse someone of doing something unless you saw them. Especially if its hired help... you know the "blame the housekeeper" for everything that goes wrong. For all you know, it could have been your son who found the hairpin and out of curioisty, pricked it into his pool. Thats something my kid would have done LOL. I would let it slide. If you have a housekeeper you can obviously afford another pool. As far as fixing it, you can buy good patch kits from a pool supply place and try it...?

You call her your servant maid, well if was her I wouldnt want to work for you just for that fact, but then to go and accuse her of that would be the last straw. Maybe she has a point, does your son leave his stuff everywhere??? Mabye it would be good for him to learn to put his stuff away. Get over yourself and maybe do your own house work and give her a holiday, maybe then you will find that she will give you better results. This is what happens when people have to much money

I can tell you love your son...and you want the best care for him. If you were home you would not want toys all over the house...in fact a 1 year old doesn't need a lot of toys at one time....it really makes a lot of work for the servant or for you.

Try making life easier for your servant so she can enjoy your son and play with him.

No one was in the room to tell you if she really damaged the inflatable pool. Your son could have put the pin in his mouth and choked...so I hope you and your servant are careful what you leave lying on the floor.

You can fix the pool. You can buy some special tape you get at a craft store or hardware store to patch the pool.

When my children were young. We would put some toys away and hide them and then bring them out in a couple weeks that way the toys are new to them.

I don't know what your servant's duties are does she also clean house? Or does she just take care of your son? She might get upset trying to watch him and clean house or cook.

Does your son act happy when you come home from work? His health and safety is most important. Sit and talk to the servant and say how much you appreciate her work..if a servant is appreciated then she will do a good job and hopefully there will be no stress for you or for her.

Always listen to your heart...if you think something is not right..about your son's health or how he is being cared for...then a mother's thoughts are usually right. So do what is best for him and for yourself. Good luck.

If your "servant maid" is from Florida give her a nice "going away" SCUBA diving outfit and send her on her way.

If she's from Mexico, (with or without a green card), there's nothing you can do.

If she's from "Get'r Done Toothless Wonder Nannies Service", pay her for her trip back to Tennessee and find someone else who likes rubber toys and water. OH..........and kids too.

(Just out of curiosity, how did you find the hair pin? Do you work for CSI).

First off I am sorry about all of the rude comments so far. It is ignorant of people to judge you without the proper information of your culture or location.

Now onto your question. I wouldn't blame your servant for something that you or anyone else didn't see her do. as someone else said unless you have concrete proof that she did it then I would let her slide.

Your sons toy is most likely repairable if you can not find a replacement for it. Inflateable toys ususally don't last that long and get holes in them often. Your best bet is to get a replacement but if you want to try to repair his old one first You can get a repair kit at any pool or bike shop. You may even find that you have a service section that can do it for you.

seriously the blow up pool is not an issue you can buy another one but as for your son and the hostility with your maid you can not buy your son again if you are doubting her for any reason it is mothers intuition and you will need to consider what to do with her .I would personally hire a nanny also maybe that would fix your problem

I don't understand why u can't just replace the maid?

You are being paranoid and silly. If you don't like your servant then sack her but don't make a fool of yourself by accusing her of piercing the pool.

You can fix it - get a tyre repair kit for a bicycle that should do the trick.

If you can afford a maid then you can afford to replace the toy.

Just because she does not have kids doesn't mean she does not know how to put things away.

If you are so concerned about inflatable things then why don't you let the air out of them each time and put them up in your bedroom.

I wouldn't even name it to her, how do you know it was done with a hair pin?

She may have not done it, maybe you did or maybe it raked against the floor or some object and put a whole in in.
