Help! I've tried to google this, but cannot find anything! I have a 5 year old with hair just past her shoulders. I want to know how moms do all of those cute hairstyles for their kids. I can french braid, do ponytails, pigtails. But I want something differtent or cute. Like when the little girls have their hair twisted. We've determined the sex of unborn animals (foals, calves etc), unhatched chicks, and the last 5 babies in our family by taking a long strand of hair, tying a plain gold ring on the end, and holding it very still over the mothers stomach- My brothers 3 kids were accurate- the ring spun in circles for the two girls, and swung back and forth for the boy. When I was pregnant, it could make up it's mind, but we decided it was making more boy actions (swinging back and forth). This time it swung in a circle without any pause. So presumably, I'm having a girl. Have you ever tried this, and if so was it accurate for you??

I have always heard to do that with a pencil and some thread I think. My mamaw did it to everyone that had kids in the family and it was right. Then she did my aunt that is pregnant and it said a boy; she went the next day for her US to determine if it was a boy or a girl and it was a boy! So, I believe in it. Also, if it doesn't make up it's mind and it stops and goes again, that means more than one- not necessarly at the same time though. Example: when she did me, first it went in circles, then it stopped for a minute, then it went back and forth, then stopped for a minute, and went in circles again meaning that I will have a girl, a boy, and another girl. I'm really hoping it doesn't mean at the same time, lol. She did my mom and it went in circles twice after stopping once and she's got two girls (me and my sister). I think it works. I guess it doesn't matter what you use, it's something about the baby, the heartbeat or something. You can probably ask a doctor what makes the baby do it. I think girls heartbeats are faster than boys. I hope this helps.. like I said before- it worked on everyone that my mamaw did it on.

How can you reasonably believe that this ring on a hair will detect the sex of a baby? Is the gold ring attracted to something in the fetus? What happens if you use a different colored hair? I'm no expert, but I suspect that you are subconsciously influencing the results.

There are so many wife tales about how to tell what sex your baby is. one being the shape of your stomach... I personally don't believe in any of these. Maybe your past experiences with them being right are all coincedences.. The hairs can be different, the weights of the ring can be different. I don't think the ring, or the hair, has anything to do with the baby. It doesn't take long to find out the sex by ultrasound, I had mine done at about 3 1/2 months.. I hope you get the sex you want. good luck!

The one thing A %26amp; F looks for is the "natural" look. They see potential in girls who don't have to wear a ton of makeup to be pretty. They want the whole "beach" look almost.

SO, if they call you for an audition, make sure you look really natural(not a lot of makeup, but maybe some clear lipgloss).

Also, a lot of Abercrombie's ask you to be a fit model first. With your sizes, you'd probably do great. What a fit model is, is when Abercrombie gets in new clothes, they call their fit models to go try them on and make sure the sizes are right. You're a pretty good height and weight to qualify for it, and it pays pretty well. They hold fit model audtions quite often, so check around online, or ask at the closest abercrombie kids store you have.

the Abercrombie, abercrombie %26amp; fitch, Hollister co. and RUEHL 22 [i'm not sure if i even got this name right, so sorry for that] models you see are probably all ford models. and to be a ford model is VERY difficult and they had VERY STRICT restrictions! you must have proffsional training and a flawless portolio. they also tend to have a natural look and they do tend to like blue eyes with darker hair. however, you seem a little short and usually the models are size M but they sometimes have custom clothes tailored for models. you have to be very slender and tall i'm not sure about the child's but for hollister its like 5' 8" minimum. i'd need to see a picture of you to see if you look like a abercrombie girl. but the hardest thing is giving up school and things like that. i highly consider staying in school and keep your social life

A false positive means that something came up in the test that was along the lines of cocaine but they could not determine if it was or not. You could ask your doctor to do a blood test they are a bit more acurate. Im not sure what you would need to do to flush it out of your system, either way it will stay in your hair. Have your husband go with you to the doctor and let the doctor explain this to him. He should not leave you if you have done nothing. Good luck hun, this situation is horrible. 2. twist the hair to the top of your head

3. secure the twist with two bobby pins (cris-cross them over eachother)

5. take some hair from behind your ears and pull it back behind your head and tie that hair together with the section of hair that you clipped to the top of your head.

I would recommend talking to a professional about the specific type of equipment your son would need. You do not mention how impaired his muscle tone is and that would make a big difference in the type of equipment he would need and what he would be able to do.

I was a pediatric speech therapist before moving here and worked with several pediatric physical therapists. A pediatric physical therapist would be the best person to tell you what you need for your son. In the meantime, you could purchase a large exercise ball (the large blow up ones), they should be available in exercise stores or go to a gym and ask where they purchased theirs. These balls are wonderful for improving muscle tone, you could help your child sit and bounce on the ball (with as much support as he needed...you must be careful not to cause injury), which would help with trunk(muscles in the back) support and balance. A physical therapist could help you find many other uses for the ball that I don't feel qualified to instruct you on especially not knowing your son's abilities and limitations. Swimming is also an excellent activity as it removes the effects of gravity on your son's muscles. You could swim with him in a pool and help him move his muscles. I would not recommend horse back riding here unless you find a qualified professional, without the proper training and understanding of how to properly support your son on a horse, you could cause injury.

He was 6 months old when he gained slight control over his head and neck - sort of like a newborn does at birth. I do alot of theraputic recreation stuf with him to build his muscle. 2 things that work great are swimming and special needs theraputic horse back riding. An for swimming the teacher must be familiar with working with children woth disabilites.

First and foremost emo girls are hot, of course they'd still be good looking even without the look, but the thick mascara dark clothes, hair and usually pale skin is a huge turn on for me. I don't consider myself in any particular category, but most people classify me as punk. The texture is probably un even because you may have applied it unevenly or while you working on one part, the other part was processing your daughter's hair. Does she have caucasion or african hair? Caucasion will break very easily. My advice is to get it cut then have it fixed professionally. If she's young the chemicals may be too strong for her.

I wouldn't worry about getting it cut. Do you know how to braid? If so, just braid her hair and you shouldn't be able to tell what texture the hair is when it's braided. Use Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizer when you braid it.

There's a pic of my neice. She's black and white and my sister (her mom) does her hair like that a lot. It's cute for little kids. It's just parted in four sections and braided, with rubberbands at both ends.

Edited to say that mu neices hair is normally curly and looks dry.

Do you have any family close who can help you get out? Or a friend? If not, wait til he's at work, call the cops if you feel you need them, and get your kids and get out! There are women shelter's or churches that will help you and protect you while you heal and get on your feet. You are in my prayers as are your kids. I lived in that kind of situation and thank God I got out. You're doing the right thing! Get out as soon as you can! When you leave get a restraining order against him. I agree with you. My youngest son refused to get his hair cut for the longest time, it was nearly to his waste. He changed his mind one day and got it cut. He didn't like it so now he's growing it out again and it's nearly to his shoulders. During the summer my oldest three dyed their hair. My oldest has brown hair and dyed it blond so that he could dye it blue (the blue didn't show up on the brown hair). My second oldest did his blue (he has natural blond hair) and my second youngest (who is naturally strawberry blond) dyed it red (although it turned out to be more pink then red). It's only hair.

Oh Lord, we're having that problem in our house! The only difference is my son is three. He doesn't want his hair super long, just a little longer like his older male cousins. I said that's fine, but he must help me brush his hair in the morning (he used to have a buzz cut so it was easy). It also can't touch his shirt collar. Go ahead and let your son do it; a little leeway can be a good thing, especially if what they want to do isn't really a big deal. If he wanted blue hair or a tattoo, it would be a different story. Well dont know how it happened..it takes 3 people to give him a haircut !! I just cry and cry..!

He's dad is going to do it this weekend !

Since his very first hair cut around 1 yrs, he is just the most pitiful thing, it would break your heart!

We try to just do it every 3 mo. or so.

Ive tried the mall , some specialize in kids cuts, have special vices, airplane seats and all.Didnt work.

He has never liked any loud, buzzing sound.

Just little things like when he was a baby, he would hide under the bed, when he was watching the Pink Panther cartoon, cause he was using an electric tooth brush Even when Dad cuts his mustache he runs in panic, cause its like the clippers.

Also every time i vacum i have to put him and some toys on his top bunk...its really sad !

even when i jsut use scissors. i watched my brother cry and cry for his first hair cut. but after that he was fine.

is he only scared of load nosies? then jsut use scissors.

Do his hair yourself, or have his dad do it. Have a movie playing, give him a lollipop ( of anything else on a stick that he enjoys) and constantly talk to him during the hair cut, ask him questions. keep his mind off the hair cut.

sometimes you just have get through it the first time and then they'll get over it.

My daughter hated getting her hair cut when she was little.I would sit in the chair and let her sit in my lap.That way you can hold her arms.It can be a little messy but it always made her feel more secure.Maybe earplugs for the noise?You could wear them also.My daughter grew out of her fear.Hopefully he will too.Good luck.

When I took my 1 1/2 year old son to get his hair cut, we took him to a place called Clippers for Kids. They were excellent there. Try to do away with the clippers. Most clippers do scare children. Have them sit in front of a TV watching their favorite show, have them play a video game. Have him take control of the clippers to show him that they are harmless. Have dad give him his mustache trimmer (if he has one), to show him that it is harmless as well. Once the child gets use to the item and knows its not going to harm him, he should lighten up a little bit and make things much easier for you and the hair dresser! Good luck!!

get him a cartoon toothbrush that has batteries and makes noises and vibrates. Let him play with it and let him see it doesnt hurt. Then show him the clippers in a non haircutting situation, just to show him how it doesnt hurt. use it on his arm or somewhere. or take him and one of his buddies together and let the buddy get his hair done first (of course make sure it is someone he truly likes, and someone who isn't afraid of the clippers). Then he will see it is ok. I had a 5 year old boy in my daycare who had a disability and was afraid of loud noises and these are the things I did before I took him for his hair cut.

Go for it! Sounds like a good cause. It may be the best thing for your heath to cut all your hair off and let it all grow back in. There is alot of germs and bacteria that get build up over the years that you just can't see with all that hair covering it up. Then again you might see alot more than you planned on- and it's all out there for public viewing. From a health standpoint it is a good idea. You can see if you have any unusual bumps or skin irritations. Calcium deposits. All this stuff is masked by a thick head of hair. Guys that think they are going bald in certain spots will shave their heads and let it grow back. Some shave their heads because their have receded hair lines and it looks more even with all the hair removed from the head. I suppose totally bald looks better than a big thin spot and a combover.

Check into the authenticity of where you'd like to donate, first. Some organizations are known to actually sell the hair that has been donated.

Second, most salons will cut your hair (usually free of charge) and they will donate it "for" you... so call some salons and ask if they do this.

Third, I saw some people mentioned already, your hair must be in nice shape (not dyed or permed) and usually quite long in order to donate.

Locks of love made only 113 wigs in an entire year, they SELL the majority of the hair received (for extensions) and they do not allow for independent auditing of their financial records. Who knows where the money from selling hair really goes to, somebody's pocket perhaps ?
