Dying red hair blonde?

I was blonde as a kid, but now i'm a teen my hair is a medium red. I'm going to have it dyed blonde at the salon but my friend who also has a hair colour like mine had her dyed professionally and it went light red/orange. What should i tell the hair dresser? I had them do blonde streaks but that didn't work a few years back.

(Please don't say keep your colour because red looks horrible with my skin tone)

I've never seen red hair turn pink, but I have tried to bleach and dye red hair to blonde. It usually comes out more of an orange color. The last time I did it I had to bleach it twice; bleached once then a few days later bleached again.

Well dont do blonde with red because it could turn a lighter red and possibly turn pink!! So take my advice and try like brunette or something.

You can do it yourself at home. There is near the perms in the grocery store a little bottle the says something like keeps red out or tones down the red. It is about a four or six ounce bottle and you add that to the perming solution. It works, because I have used it on my years ago. And I say, if you want to dye your hair, go for it. Hair can grow back, be re-dyed, grown, cut, pointed on the top of your head, and it only really effects the person wearing it. heck, my sons dye their hair all different colors including red, white, and blue on the fourth a couple of years ago.
