doubt he has cancer [thankfully]. Cats do sometimes play like this, I call it the 'mad half hour'. Him loosing hair sounds like an allergy of some sort - maybe fleas - easy to get rid of, or worse, mange - still curable. Take him to the vet asap to get the appropriate diagnosis and treatment. Don't worry, he'll be ok.

It sounds like your cat has the mange - I'd take him to the vet.

He probably had allergies. That happens to my cat all the time. Just take him to the vet and he'll be fine.

Sound like he is in some sort of pain . May be allergy's or something going on . I would call your vet!

Sounds like a flea allergie, and don't say he doesn't have them it only takes one bite and one to come in on your clothes to cause this type of reation. And this will drive them crazy, itchy and sore.

these are not symptoms of cancer thankfully-sounds like a flea allergy or a mange type skin disease so he needs a vet asap as he will be in discomfort which may explain his occasional bad temper(some cats are like that though-they can turn on you when they want to be alone and this is normal) As someone else said it only takes one flea bite to trigger this allergic reaction so even if you cant see any that doesnt rule it out. The chasing and jumping out part is just playing-my cat loves to hide and jump out at you then zoom round the house like a mad thing!

I am not a veterinarian, and I only speak on my lifelong ownership of cats. Please get your furbaby to a vet if you suspect something is wrong! It could be that he is shedding his winter coat also - I know that my cats are shedding a lot right now (actually, it is the 2 boys - they love to sleep in the sun and they shed all year round - indoor only cats - but when it is time to shed that winter coat they shed so much it is scary!) and seeing all that hair can be scary. Spike, my 12 year old male, is also losing some of his fur cause he is getting old (don't tell him that, he thinks he is a puppy! Yes, a puppy, not a kitten) You don't mention if this behavior is normal for him, for example, he did this last year, if he is out doors or indoors, or if he allows you to pet the area where he is losing the hair. If you touch the area and he runs away, growls, cries or acts weird to you in any other way, a vet visit is always recommended. In my experience, the playing your cat is doing is normal, even the mean part. They can get over stimulated, just like a child - but they can't say stop, so they let you know they have had enough play time, petting, or whatever by "attacking" you. I looked up mange, and it is horrific! I put a link for you in the sources, but the pictures are graphic! I can tell you that mange has many more symptoms than just fur loss - the animal is basically infested mange mites that live under the skin and do all sorts of nasty things to the cat (actually, any animal is susceptible). I hope I helped ease your mind a bit %26amp; I hope your fur baby gets well soon : )
