Unless you have had years and years of treatments, your hair typically will grow back. How fast depends on the type of treatments you've had, and for how long. It can take weeks or months. Here's a good link about cancer-related hair loss:

Basically, chemotherapy operates on the idea that cancer cells grow. The only other cell in the human body that grows . . happens to be the hair follicles . . so, chemotherapy stops cells from growing .. it will stop cancer cells and hair cells. That's why people lose their hair.
But, the hair loss is temporary.
Some chemotherapy does not make your hair fall out. Much depends upon the chemotherapy dose, how long the treatment lasts, and each individuals reaction to the chemo.

When cancer patients loose their hair, does it ever grow back?
when cancer patients lose their hair because of chemotherapy which has more or less the same effect on normal fast dividing cells and cancer cells ( normal cells will start dividing once again soon when chemo's effect wears away whereas cancer cells once stopped will not recover and destroyed from the system if sensitive to that chemotherapy ) 100 % it is expected to get back to previous hair growth approximately 6 - 8 weks after the last chemo.
also any general illness can affect hair growth like a typhoid infection and similarly the person's cancer status also has an influence on hair loss which is expected to get better with treatment.
when a person with cancer loses hair because of radiotherapy especially a large dose ( usually divided in several doses given once a day for 4 - 6 weeks) then, unfortunately further hair growth is unpredictable ie. may come back as before, may come back but thin and sparse or may not come back at all.
If you can please tell me what cancer it is and what treatment is involved , I will be able to give you a better answer.
